Billy and John decided to start a joke band in 2009, because they had nothing to do, and thought it might be fun. After about two years of procrastinating they got offered a show at a halloween party hosted by the band Panzer in 2011. This was the kick DMTR needed to get started, John and Billy then sat down and started writing music.
